This is a very important poem David. Thank you for writing it. It is so easy to be repulsed by that which is unfamiliar. People in wheelchairs are often accorded more tolerance than those whose bodies twitch or dribble, but in my experience, when you let go of your embarrassment, you quickly get to know the soul behind the mask.
