Free As The Wind Poem by Don Subba

Free As The Wind

My heart is burning with love
All can see this flame
My heart is pulsing with passion
Like waves on an ocean
My friends have become strangers
And I'm surrounded by enemies
Still I move like the wind
And their reproach can't hold me

I am free as the wind
I am free as the wind
At home wherever I am
At home wherever I am
(Free as the wind)
(At home wherever I am)

In the room of lovers
I can see with closed eyes
Beauty dancing softly
Behind the veils of fire
Intoxicated with love
I step where silence turns
And every wounded name
Falls away in my hands

The world keeps turning
And I turn with it
No chain can teach me
How to kneel
The more they press me
The lighter I become
The more they name me lost
The more I arrive

I am free as the wind
I am free as the wind
At home wherever I am
At home wherever I am
(Free as the wind)
(At home wherever I am)

I have lost my senses
In my world of lovers
I wear the dark like silk
I wear the flame like rain
If you cannot follow
Leave your shoes at the door
I will dance through the ruin
Till the room opens wide

I am free as the wind
I am free as the wind
At home wherever I am
At home wherever I am
(Free as the wind)
(At home wherever I am)
In the room of lovers
I am never alone
