Hear;
Two impulsive hearts pulsate
with eagerness, excitement, expectation;
wishing Cupid, the god of love’s favor will fall on them
Saint Valentine's Day, February fourteenth.
Listen;
She loved him then,
she loves him now.
Notice;
Her remarkable whispering eyes, chiseled smile,
timid touch, powder-puff walk;
All beguilingly
choreographed to dazzle and daze.
Regard;
His friend, his lover,
his wife, his woman.
Respect;
These love-token gold relics they wore when they wed,
and all their worldly wares they shared;
In the beginning, and in the end,
through paucity, and through prosperity.
Receive;
Them in heaven when their time comes Lord;
when in death one separates from the other.
Because they vowed;
With this ring I thee wed,
till death do us part.
