Free Will Poem by Kim Senior

Free Will

The indignity of supression,
being denied your life long beliefs;
trying to survive the oppression
without being brought to your knees.

Fighting against all odds
whilst never denying your creed;
calling for help from your gods,
biting your tongue though it bleed.

The thoughts and hopes that you share
give you the strength to stand fast;
to bide your time and prepare
to die, every man, to the last.
