Freedom Poem by Lureen Kithen

Freedom

Damian says to me,
'Girl, whats the matter with you?
I've never seen you so free,
You always seem so blue.'
I reply, 'Don't you see?
Today, I have no cares
Mother is not scolding me,
I don't feel Father's glares.'
And it was so very true
It was so true for me
I hadn't thought things through
But for the first time I felt free.
