Freedom Of Thought Poem by Eugene W. Miller

Freedom Of Thought

I've tried and tried to find the words
That poetry must express
The rhyme, the meter and the theme
With contents that would impress
The more I tried to put in words
And force my thoughts to form
More weary my efforts then became
I wasn't close to getting warm. So I lay down and rested
And gave my mind a chance to know
Just what I really wanted
Then the words began to flow. In an instant moment
In that special time
There cometh a ray of light
Its what makes me want to write
Now all those thoughts and dreams
That in my mind seemed far away
Are now the precious wonders
That I write about today.
