Remember the beginning
In that dark and dingy club
Intoxicated on cheap champagne
And pots of ready rub
The glance, the smile
The disguised touching at the bar
The cheeky comment about your curly hair
A comment said 'Too Far! '
The game begins
Your friend fobbed off
Us too drunk to really care
Alone together
In that crowded room
A night time left to share
Hot sticky night
Bed covers off bed
Open window and curtains
Delicate curves
Biting lips
A future for us certain
A meeting of our eyes
Was all we needed
To know what the other was thinking
But youth's young love
Fades so fast
The beginning of the sinking
Now looking back
I miss those days
Know what exactly where we went wrong
An old head on young shoulders required
Standing up for oneself
Being strong
Showed me so much
When needed at its most
One day again? an eve?
Just a passing while?
Always remembering your emotional lecture
Better to cry, than never smile.
