A friend like you is hard to come by
You cheer my day with every bright smile
And give my dark clouds a silver lining
You bring laughter when I feel like crying,
Touching my heart with your care

You stand beside me
Every time I am tried,
And listen in comforting support
Day and day again
You brighten my dreary afternoon
To let clarity shine through

How fortunate I am
To have you in my life,
A friend who believes in me,
Whatever I do,

So, I want you to know
When you need a hug of love
Or a person to listen to your troubles,
I will be there for you
