Friend To Enemy Poem by Laurina Belle

Friend To Enemy

Rating: 4.5

You were once my friend and now you're my enemy,
If you've forgotten please let me refresh your memory.
When no one wanted you around I was there,
I listened and respected you and I really did care.

I stuck around when no one else would,
Even when they told me to leave and I thought I should.
When they put you down I stood up for you,
I saw you in a completely different view.

But then you manipulated and turned them all on me,
And now they hate me, can't you see?
It's all because you stabbed me in the back,
And now you've left me out in the black.

Friendship and enmity seem to be worlds apart, yet only a thin line divides the two. Once the natural balance of the two is tilted, an enemy could become a friend or a friend an enemy. A lovely depiction of a foe wearing the veil of friendship, well articulated and insightfully penned in good rhyme scheme with conviction. Thanks for sharing Laurina.
