Friends Poem by Cyclopseven R

Friends

Rating: 5.0

This is a story of two friends
who meets daily to acknowledge each other
at the height of consummation
that we call twilight.

The day, in haste from tiresome burden
rushes forward to greet its irreplaceable friend- the night;
and night always waits eagerly to hug its friend – the day
as both hardly stays together at the same time;

no matter what may happen
eternity worked out a formula
that at one’s existence
the other must cease
at one's death
the other shall survive
and in between a time is set
to exchange the gaze
and we call it twilight.

The night cries non-stop
because it has no privilege to become the bright day
which is always cheerfully locked in loving poise
with its lover the sun, the light giver.

while the day mourns in prayerful sadness
because it wishes that at least once
it will be given the chance to escape the sun’s heat
and bask in the moonlight cold of the night.

The night has no choice
the day can’t rejoice
both fastened forever
fated to meet not each other
at the same time
and same place

But man, we are
have we ever grateful
that choices we have many?

Yet to choose the right one
many of us have gone into agony! !
