Friends Poem by Nicole Marcelino

Friends

True, we can buy so much with money,
Yet there is one thing we can't buy truly!
It is the people we call 'friends',
Those gained when our adventures ends.

But to be a good friend,
You don't need to be grand!
For every friend is there, on every land!

Look and look and carefully choose,
For a bad friend might be the bad news!
Befriend those who will stay by your side,
For soon enough, they will become your very pride!

In exchange for their undying loyalty,
Treasure them like how riches is treasured in royalty!
Appreciate them, and do not leave,
They never betrayed you so do not disbelieve.

You had gave them your trust,
and they had gave you theirs,
So dear friend, remember my advice,
Because you might not want to make the same mistake twice!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This story was inspired by how I got betrayed by a VERY close friend, who in the end, had hated me because she was jealous of my ability in writing.

So remember to choose people that will never turn their backs on you because it will be you who will get hurt in the end.
