Friendship Poem by Jakob Bonde

Friendship

Fumbling in shadows you were,
Lost in the land of darkness;
Far from love, care,
Alone.

By hopelessness you were consumed;
By the fiends of despair you were.
A whisper, a voice,
Fear.

At the edge you stood,
The blade at your heart.
A light, a whisper,
Hope.

A light so bright,
A voice so kind.
A hand, a smile,
Faith.

They took you in when you feared;
Held you close as you cried.
A voice, so kind,
Friend.

Light grew, light became more,
A friend, they called you;
Love, hope,
Friendship.

They became your all, your friend,
Through the darkness you went;
Hand in hand,
Forever.

They are the friend
The one you need;
Loved, always,
A friend.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I had been going through a very tough time and only because of a few, select friends, I stayed strong. This was written for them, then later adapted to fit more people. :)
