Friendship Poem by isaac cheong

Friendship

Rating: 5.0

I was born in 1960
So was he
We met 22 years later
At a place called Stillwater

He was the only chinese
In my first class at school
I chose the seat beside him.
The rest is history

He was a kind hearted zealot, a rarity.
The soul of every gathering and
The envy of many

He is quintessentially a conservative
I am a liberal at heart
One thing we have in common
We agree to disagree

I am 58 years old now
So is he
It is amazing that we still meet up every week
Friendship does not come better than this
Here's wishing our friendships many good years to come

A well texted and nicely crafted poem. A beautiful depiction of good friendship written with clarity of thought and mind. Thanks for sharing Isaac.
