Friendship Lost Poem by Josie Saunders

Friendship Lost

Madness passing, pain receding
And yet my heart continues bleeding

Two nights spent, close but apart
Then a glorious wakening in my heart

Love was gained, but love was lost
A sweet warm breath turned into frost

Sorrow abounds, is this the end?
Saddest of all? Have I lost a friend?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A long friendship turned to love after two nights together on a trip. Then reality kicked in and it was all over. I worried I had not only lost love, but the thought of loss of a long friendship was worse.
