From Being Kids To Adults, And Back To Being Kids Again Poem by Writing Soul

From Being Kids To Adults, And Back To Being Kids Again

Rating: 5.0

We were kids with innocent eyes and contagious smiles
All we did was play carelessly and earn some ails
We were only kids 'til it was time for us to grow
To face the world and live the usual way we know

We were kids who only knew how to sleep and eat
We were the ones they taught about simple things but never about how to live
We are the ones who thought that to live is just like to breathe
And we never expected that this world will let us grieve

As we grew old, our smiles eventually faded away
As we faced the world, the innocent things we knew were thrown into the bay
Our eyes became void of the positive emotions we always reflected before
Guess being old has changed us to the core

Going back to the time of being kids, all we wanted was to grow up and experience things
Now all we want is to go back and never grow, never minding what the end of the road brings
We were not informed that being adults requires a lot of problems to solve
And be included in situations we never wanted to be involved

Being adults completely altered our beliefs and perceptions
We responded to events distinctly and acted differently
Some became silent, some chose isolation, and some lost their directions
Oh how could this world ruin us severely

We were only curious about the life of an adult
Yet the exchange was too much for us to handle
We were only innocent kids that exult
But we are now problematic adults with a lot of responsibilities to cradle

We were good, we were young, we were unimpeachable
But we got hurt, we learned, and we changed
Guess being adults is not for us
Oh how good it is to just stay kids just like in the past
