From California To Houston Poem by Natasa To

From California To Houston

From California to Houston

From California's golden shore,
Where ocean winds forever roar,
I packed my dreams and hit the road,
Carrying memories and a heavy load.

Past desert skies and mountain views,
Through endless roads of changing hues,
The sunsets painted the sky so wide,
As California slowly slipped behind.

Miles rolled on beneath the wheels,
Each passing town brought something real.
Through Arizona's open land,
With Texas waiting close at hand.

Then Houston rose beneath the sun,
A new beginning, a journey begun.
Different streets, but dreams the same,
A brand-new chapter, a different name.

From California to Houston, far away,
I found a little more of myself each day.
Sometimes the road is where we grow—
You leave one home to find a new one to know.
