FROM EACH PATH TO FIRST ROADS

From each path to first roads
Without shoulders ways meet
With no sign to follow,
With bridals in hand
Behind asses of ox and mule,

One limestone lane from skyways
Far beyond moons perpendicular to
Lines of one straight and middle spine
Connect consubstantiation to nature
Known by other meaning

Native black and fireable tongues; way
Loss by rivers gone to narrow's choice
Set to pinch to leave no shoulders;
But one way coming and one way going
Returns to ancient sowing;
