From Texas To Washington Poem by Natasa To

From Texas To Washington

From Texas, where the endless highways run,
Beneath the wide and golden sun,
I started north with dreams in my heart,
Not knowing how far the journey would take me apart.

Miles rolled by and the landscape changed,
New towns appeared, new roads arranged.
But with every mile beneath my wheels,
I carried the strength that Texas instills.

Then Washington rose beyond the trees,
The Potomac moving with the breeze.
The Capitol stood beneath the sky,
A symbol of dreams that never die.

From Texas pride to a nation's heart,
Two places joined though miles apart.
I came with memories, hope, and pride,
With the Lone Star shining deep inside.

And as I stood beneath those lights,
Thinking of home on those distant nights,
I knew that no matter how far I roam,
A piece of Texas will always be home.
