From The Shadows Poem by Darryn John Murphy

From The Shadows

Rating: 1.5

From the shadows a mist surrenders
To a dust cloud on the rise
Through the woods
The delicate sound of wolves howling in the distance

As the smelter bells ring
The gates of hell shall open wide
As he awakens to the hunger
That burns through the flesh
And tears way at the mind

From the madness
He hunts for the light of a soul
Though dead of night the bitter cold
With darkened eyes he stalks his prey
For in the shadows there is no light of day

Driven by the thought’s that lights the soul
Burden with the hunger to feel whole
But will the blood lust come to pass
As he move in silence like the grains of sand
Through the hour glass

For the night will forever know
The burdens blend by the blood of innocent souls
For he walks in the shadows with desire to feel whole
And walk once more within the light of day
Where thoughts are swept away, beneath the grey
