Frozen Fire Poem by Hallie Gentry

Frozen Fire

Frozen flames ignite the night
Infernos cascade from the sky
These flames provide that vital light

Icy flakes cover all things of great height
Glaciers burn as the skies cry
Frozen flames ignite the night

Smoke crawls from everything in sight
Bitter needles rain from those who die
These flames provide that vital light

Cold wind slices through those in flight
Molten flames revitalize their limbs as they lie
Frozen flames ignite the night

Snowflakes falling left and right
Fiery tendrils are snuffed out as humans sigh
These flames provide that vital light

Tears frozen on young faces live again when touched by flames so bright
Flames exist within the snow, but why?
Frozen flames ignite the night
These flames provide that vital light
