Fruitless War Poem by gabriel gomez

Fruitless War

When it begun
you were all I thought of
Everything I did
was in your name,
your essence, your spirit

I still admire you
And I still do everything in your name
But for different reasons
For reasons that disgust me

I never thought I could stoop so low

While there is a war in my head

You live happily
