Further Away From The Sun Poem by Mark Hopwood

Further Away From The Sun

Is there really no hope, no chance, no will and no way
Is there a world out there waiting for me
Will I get to achieve the goals I must complete
Or will My mind always be in the gutter, on the street.
Right now the odds seem against me,95% no 5% maybe
Who can say how they'll seem in an hour
Maybe I'd have died and be gone
Or maybe the light may suddenly switch on.

I guess no one knows, until that time comes
I guess it may not show but my time always runs
Away from me at great speed, leaves me lost and alone
Will I ever catch it up and one day feel at home,
Maybe one day I could hold the world
and not let it all slip through my fingers
But the problem is now when the past and present lingers.

So if I could only find my today
Then I could get the future on its way
And forget the past, just leave it behind
Let some light in when I open the blinds
Until then I guess nothing can be done
And all I can do is run...
Further and further away from the sun.
