Future Poem by Nightshade Starlight

Future

Ever since we were born
Our parents watched over us.
As we grew they tired to put us on the right path
Warning us against certain things.
Some how it almost feels like our
Very future has been planned out for us.
They tell us to try to be this,
Something special and can do anything.
A firefighter,
A doctor,
An astronaut.
That's what we say as kids.
Something specail, but as we get older they change.
Something more realistic that fits us.
When they ask us in high school what we want to be
We have to think.
It seems like our future has been planned out for us.
What if we wanted to travel the world and enjoy life.
Yet that is impossible without money, a job.
How can we enjoy life when our future is already planned?
