Future Sustainable City Poem by Mohammad Yousef

Future Sustainable City

By Mohammad Yousef

In the heart of tomorrow,
where steel and glass rise like trees,
a city breathes,
its lungs filled with the whispers of the wind,
and the soft hum of solar panels,
catching the sun's embrace,
every ray a promise,
every shadow a story yet to be told.

Walkways of green,
woven through the concrete,
as nature reclaims its place,
where vines dance along the walls,
and rooftops bloom,
a vibrant tapestry,
woven with the threads of life—
flowers, herbs, and vegetables,
a feast for the eyes and the spirit.

Children laugh in parks,
where once the asphalt ruled,
now the symphony of birdsong,
mingles with the rhythm of bicycles,
spinning joyfully on paths,
where cars once prowled,
hungry beasts of burden,
now silenced by the pulse of progress.

Water flows clear,
not just from the taps,
but in streams that weave,
through the city's veins,
a network of life,
where rain gardens bloom,
and greywater glistens,
nurturing the roots of our shared existence.

The air is sweet,
a blend of blossoms,
and the aroma of fresh earth,
as urban farms flourish,
in the embrace of concrete canyons,
where community gathers,
to share, to learn, to grow—
the seeds of tomorrow,
planted by hands of hope.

Structures rise,
not just as shelters,
but as sanctuaries of thought,
whispering to the stars,
with walls that breathe,
and windows that reflect,
the pulse of the planet,
where every heartbeat counts,
and every soul is cherished.

A mosaic of cultures,
woven into the fabric of this place,
voices blend in harmony,
sharing stories, sharing dreams,
as we build bridges of understanding,
not just of steel, but of spirit,
connecting hearts,
across the spectrum of humanity.

In this city,
the future is not a distant shore,
but a vibrant present,
alive with possibility,
where innovation dances with tradition,
and sustainability is the rhythm,
that guides our every step,
as we walk together,
toward a horizon painted with promise,
a legacy for those yet to come,
in the heart of a sustainable future city.
