Game Of Life Poem by Bri Lynne

Game Of Life

I remember how he choked out
I remember how she yelled
Could I forget the before times
Should I just forgive

Taking is too easy
At least that's what was beaten
Into me
Like giving is too much to ask
Of a mother
Haunted by her past
Or a father
Scared he just won't last

Life's a blast
We're given our unfair share
Of dreams and pains
Like no father
A stumbling mother
Or burying your brother
We're meant to suffer
Living off of one another
In a shadowed World where
No one cares enough to bother

You and I are both the same
Taught to blame
The things we do in shame
The walking dead
Walking on without a name
In life it isn't winning
It's enjoying the game
