Gazing Of Dreams Poem by Tara Guillory

Gazing Of Dreams

Don’t interrupt my gazing of dreams,
When I’m looking in earnest at something just beyond my reach
When I’m so close that I can feel its presence
When I’m so absorbed by the mere possibility of it
I don’t stare at space,
I don’t zone out to pass the time
I know I’m a gazer
And I know secretly you are too
You and I both gaze, transfixed, eyes misty with our almost touchable dreams
Don’t interrupt our gazing of dreams
When we’re looking in earnest at something just beyond our reach
When we’re so close that we can feel its presence
When we’re so absorbed by the mere possibility of it
We know we’re gazers
And we know secretly everyone is too
We all gaze, transfixed, eyes misty with our almost touchable dreams
Not a soul dares to interrupt our gazing of dreams
Because when someone does, our dreams fade
Leaving behind only a vast, empty void,
Where our dreams should fill
Remember: Never interrupt our Gazing of Dreams.
