'Gemini Rising'
Before the city turns its face to light,
two stars clear the edge of eastern seas—
unseen by those who sleep through the hour,
kept only by the dark, and you, and me.
They do not stay to contend with the Sun,
nor ask the Morning to explain their place;
they simply hold canopy up for a breathing space,
then yield the shore without a trace.
