Hmmm
they all murmured
assent and content
voiced their feelings

Hummm
they all hummed
they were numbed
by friend felt emotion

hummm
they all summed up
to say
they were stunned
by their crony's
poetry in motion

there was one
who would not hummm
thought the selection
just somme notion

this lout did speak out
from this company was
was cast out

from that time on
humming goes on
no one dares
to speak out
to voice some doubt
