Gentle On My Mind - Poem by Melissia Ann Senter

Baby, you are always gentle on my mind.
Gently your memory comes to me like a delicate breeze.
Every time I think of you, all I want is to be with you,
now knowing I can't.
Time has gone by, you have married another;
loving you since we first met in that little store,
even after I told you to go, that it was over.

Baby, you are always gentle on my mind.
Only one thing is wrong with this picture.
Never did I expect that after all these years,
I would love you, as I still do.
My heart aches, remembering your sweet kisses
so soft and gentle upon my lips,
your gentle touch so soft upon my skin,
the way you held me just right, close in your warm arms.

Baby, you are always gentle on my mind.
Remembering you in your tight flared legged jeans (I hated LOL) ,
down to your sweet smile.
You were my dream come true.
Looking into those beautiful brown eyes just melts my soul.
At one time you were my dream come true
and I had to be a fool and let you go.

Baby, you are always gentle on my mind.
I wish we were still together, but I made you go.
Now all I have are those beautiful, sweet memories
of you and me that we shared a long time ago.
They are fresh in my mind just like it was yesterday.

Baby, you are always gentle on my mind.
That special way you looked at me... my, my, my,
the way you would softly call out my name.
As I am thinking of you I can still hear your sweet voice calling,
wishing I still had you in my life,
knowing that we can never be together
because your heart belongs to your wife.

Baby, you are always gentle on my mind.
