Geopolitical Dangerous Relationship Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Geopolitical Dangerous Relationship

The eagle turns its back on friends,
While shadows stretch across the land.
Across the sea, a promise bends,
To place a gift in a ruthless hand.

The bear waits hungry in the cold,
With jaws agape to claim the prize,
As silver tongues and stories told,
Mask the dark and hollow lies.

A leader bows with fawning grace,
And praise is whispered to the throne,
While far away, in a ruined place,
The seeds of bitter grief are sown.

'A man of peace, ' the envoy says,
While iron boots march through the snow.
The truth is lost in hollow praise,
And victims reap the debt they owe.
