Gepeto’s Second Creation Poem by Jeph S. Walker

Gepeto’s Second Creation

stumble upon
the broken glass
of the image
i have shattered.
i'm so sick
of being who
you want me to be.
of hideing behind
this mask.
a mask that
does not fit.
a mask
so uncomfortable
it cracks my face.
busting out
who i really am.
pieces of glass
stuck in my flesh.
reflective skin.
see what you want
when you look at me.
see yourself.
I'm lost in this ocean
of mirrors and masks.
a life of
reflecting and hideing.
I've been in my mask
for so long that
I've wasted away inside.
help me glue all of the pieces
back together.
i want to be me.
