Get Off The Devil’s Train (1) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Get Off The Devil’s Train (1)

You feel you’re trapped with no escape
Afraid you hide from sight
You heard of hell, it’s flaming lake
Of Jesus’ truth & light

Although you know what’s right and wrong
You know dark ways so well
You love to sing the devil’s song
And dance to tunes of hell

You’re empty but of wayward sin
You seek yet find no love
You need to ask God’s Son within
Through outstretched hands above

From life you’re on a speeding train
Upon a plain in flight
Going too fast to bear the strain
No strength remains to fight

In Satan’s trap you feel alone
Your house is built on sand
You should embrace God’s Corner Stone
Life’s truth to understand

Let Jesus be your Lord today
Let Jesus come inside
Let Jesus’ Spirit show the way
Let Jesus be your guide

Just like the grass or golden wheat
You came from darkest mire
In Christ alone man’s made complete
Through whom we flee hell’s fire

Have ears to hear have eyes to see
Through Christ receive new wine
Eat Heaven’s bread from Jesus free
Receive new birth divine…P.T.O
