Getting Together Poem by mazHur Butt

Getting Together

Last Sunday was a wonderful day
old school friends getting together
for dinner
after a long absence
'twas like meeting lost lost children after a while
or kids meeting their parents after separation
or to be more elaborate
like soldiers returning home from some war ridden front
alive and kicking
anxiously waiting to meet their families
o how wonderful experience is to
getting together with your bosom friends
after long time
when summer of life is over
the spring will come no more
no more will seasons matter
just winter shivering around
snow at its work
woe to time that parted us
cheers to time that brought us together
and sweet memories of yore
lucky are those who separate but get together later
time can separate people but if feelings exist
then old is gold
always precious as ever
to be saved preserved and honored
like gold souvenir in a purse of passion,
compassion, unbreakable bond, mutual respect
and love.
