Ghost Poem by Melissa Joy Chesky

Ghost

Today, I saw a ghost
And he didn’t even know who he was.
Age didn’t affect his features;
His hands are the exact way I left them years before.
The hair never moved, never grew,
A smile still plastered
Eyes of the same hue.
Predictable you.
In that black car.
With that same piercing smirk.

Today, I re-met my ghost, my nightmare,
And he ordered a chocolate shake
Then drove on by
Not knowing what horror he was to me.
