Ghosts On Broadway Poem by Laurence Overmire

Ghosts On Broadway

I remember seeing Anthony Quinn
Walking down the street
On Broadway in Times Square
And nobody paid him any attention
He was just another so-and-so
And who-the-hell-cares.

But I cared.

I liked Anthony Quinn
I recognized him
I knew the talents he possessed
In fact, my life was somehow better
In some small way, thanks to
Anthony Quinn.

That was worth noticing
On a crowded, self-interested sidewalk
Where people don't want to know who's
Walking in front of
Or behind them.
