Gift From The Devil Poem by Sunshine Rainey

Gift From The Devil

She had fallen for him, the Devil himself
Disguised in shining, silver armor
Each time he came
He came bearing gifts
Wrapped pale packages
Tied in a crimson ribbon
The more she saw him, the harder she fell
Addicted
To his touch
The feeling of his body as it rubbed against hers
To his kiss
The feel of his teeth as they sunk into her skin
His touch made her pain vanish
For a moment
His touch made her feel good
For a moment
His kiss made her feel
Love
Joy
Peace
Hope
Desire
Passion
Alive
For a moment
When he pulled away
She was filled with
Loneliness
Depression
Hopelessness
Agony
Desperation
Again he kissed her goodbye
Again she was alone
Each time
Holding the same gift
Each time
Praying it would be different
It never was
Crimson ribbon stained her skin
As she unraveled it
From the pale, fleshy package
She peered inside
Nothing
It was empty
She was empty
Her knight in shining armor had left her
Once more
She needed him
Once more
And when she heard him calling her name
She couldn't resist
She didn't want to resist
His touch, so tender
His kiss, so empowering
He begged her to follow him
For eternity and longer
She took his hand
She fell in love with him
She fell to Hell with him
Knight in shining armor
Knife in burning fire
