Gift Of A Heart - Poem by Cash Onadele
The spirit of my nation, if are you awake, rise up to my call
Spend this hour with me
Let me say something sweet to your ears
For they deserve to hear the sweetness of my cares
Quotidian as they are
My daily wish is to buoy your heart
If only love could pick its own future and destiny
Would I not have picked you even afore time?
For if roses could decide their time to bloom
Would your season not have been here and now?
Take heart in the stirring of constellation
Press your nose and mind to this ship’s aft
As it heads towards home
The new world may bring us newness of hope
Where lay your head?
Arise come to me with the one gift I desire
