Girl, Supernova Poem by Vivian Martens

Girl, Supernova

Millions of stars
Each a light burning bright
They will all go out
Some will light forever
Though they die they will burn on
Never forgotten
Most will just go out
A flicker in the background
Disappear quickly
Thousands of candles
Filling the endless night sky
Please don’t let me die
I want to see the
Great deeds of the gods of men
I want to be bright
Be in the center
Of a grand constellation
Demand to be felt
My heat shall light ages
My glow will inspire the
Meek to become strong
Or shall I be left
To shine so brilliantly
In my last moments
To rise from the ash
My final revelation
To ring out so true
That the likes of men
Shall never forget me
And my blinding light
Revolutions shall be
Kindled from my charred corpse
So I never die
Stars lives are so short
Compared to my grand impact
An imprint so strong
That the Lord himself
Shall be an admirer
Of his creation
Night itself will end
The brilliance of a
girl, Supernova
