Give Me Poem by Gahlia Njongoh Gwangwa'a

Give Me

Rating: 5.0

Give me that promised land
I'll be proud to bequeath
To my children who will take at ease
It won't be anything to put them beneath
Give me all, not what I've seen in
A society where the promiscuous
Get to slim-fit and not pompous
Human beings become lean, feeble and mean.
Give me all the leaisure to rest
Not the pleasure of the pest
That comes without help
Those infected are abandoned to self.
Give all to me
Let me be architect of my insanity
My behaviour could only be tamed by me
If I chose to ensure my safety.
Give, give me effective protection
To rid my imminent destruction
The warmth the indiscriminate twos enjoy
Gives way for regret 'cause of health's ploy.
