Give Me Room To Breathe - Poem by Pranesh Varan

My eyes met yours
they seemed tender and elegant
powerful yet vulnerable
I felt my finger tips go numb
for the very first time
Your presence gave me chills
running down my spine

I felt weird, queasy and confused
I couldn't respire for a moment
not because of the cold
but because of your presence
so graceful, it left me chocking for breath

I knew at that instant,
I'd never get over you
I was captivated
and for once vindicated
