Glimpse Poem by James Meaney

Glimpse

Posing as a friend, sitten end ta end
Consulting thoughts, keeping em trim
Eyes closed, face forward attention
Lean back, I think you've got decision's
So spill your thoughts and give em
I'm here to talk, ponder, and listen
Open your eyes and creative mind
Think back and press the rewind
Your personality is nothing but genuine
So when you mind starts beating
Well both look to the jet black sky
Stars of the dark will be blinding
Coming to conclusions your not finding
Look for something that's not hiding
But just being here with you feels true
A privileged glimpse into your heart
A gorgeous something about you
That gives a heightened promise of life
That should rhyme forever unlike a haiku.
