Go Hillary, Go! Poem by Jacson Gelato

Go Hillary, Go!

How many chances will you ask for more
how many chances will we stake for more?
When one side of the world is aflame
how can you expect others to sleep in peace
in rooms of the houses that are adjoining?
care and concern is every man's duty
but by diplomacy, by negotiations, by peace deals
you felt you were doing the right things,
by not persisting action against the roads of hurdles
you watched their sufferings as you kept
turning away your eyes in another direction
while people of various nations awaited for help
as terror and violence, threats and crimes
had over-shadowed their daily life,
and shattered their existence over the years.
And as those people lost their freedom of birthright
they lost their homes and identities
when they had to flee their own motherland;
and as they kept running to escape and survive
other countries came to their rescue and shelter;
but you kept running from pillar to post
with reverence to your duty and not for their lives;
you were mightily wrong with your perceptions
as women and children, the old, the helpless
had to pick up their blankets and run
from shore to land, from country to country
just to be alive and not to get killed
but some that died were innocent babies
who in their mother's arms succumbed
while some on shores were found lifeless
as they drowned and died those deaths
which they never deserved;
O' how unreasonable was not that decision
when presidents so brave and bold like yours
declined to stand up and fight
those enemies of terror and cruelty?
O' how many chances will you ask for more
to continue your dreams of diplomacy?
will you be able to put back the law and order
in those countries which have lost their engines
of stability and safety?
will you be able to give back those people
who are called refugees their dignity
when in their yester years
they embraced peace and prosperity?
will you will be able to retrieve
the respect and modesty of those young girls
who lived before in comforts and luxuries
in their home towns
but now they walk and walk
in penury and anguish
in other countries....
O Hillary, be the woman in their shoes
and think of their plight
think if you were they and they were you,
would their ears want ever to hear you
stand up and scream -
''I want to be the next president''
when everyday they wake up
to hear and know their country is bombed
and another brother or sister has died?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Her democratic party President could have controlled the crisis and the refugee exodus.
It is not right to be observers when so many people had to take to the roads for inaction by world leaders.
