Like a lightning bolt you struck me
Rattled my cage
Surged right through me
And in my heart you stayed
Kept it beating
Feeding off of hope
Just when I thought
I was at the end of my rope
It pulses with love
Breathes with your breath
Keeps on beating me
Away from death
And when the day comes
To walk in your land
You'll reach down
And grab my heart with your hands
With the final beat
A new life will start
And I'll die knowing
That you held my heart
