God Poem Poem by Shiloh Thompson

God Poem

*Author's Note*
I'm home for the holiday season, which is Christmas for me, so I decided to raid my old stores of poems from when I was in high school. All of the poems published within the next few days were from my old stores of them written and tucked away under my bed away from prying eyes.

Reflections in the snow,
Reflections in the glass,
Reflections reminding me,
Of a woeful past.
Life does go on an on,
Time marches toward better days,
But the past catches up,
And I revert to old ways.
Time heals all wounds,
But not on the soul,
They are ever fresh,
Even as Death's bell tolls.
No one forgets these hurts,
The excruciating pain,
The hate of life,
With ever no gain,
But there is one who will help,
One who holds you so near,
The God above,
Your prayers He hears.
Maybe He will end your pain,
Maybe He will heal your soul,
Maybe if you forgive yourself,
Heaven's bells will toll.
The saved have come!
Love has won!
The pain you felt,
Is now forever done!
Rejoice in the Lord,
For He will heal,
All of your pain,
And all of your weals.
Give yourself to God,
And He will give,
Everlasting love,
And a new life to live.
