God’s Fire And Wine {1} Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Fire And Wine {1}

Rating: 5.0

Hypocrisy teaches far and wide
Dissension’s plain to see
When in God’s house, such filth can hide
Man’s self! Won’t bend the knee

We’re holding fast traditional things
Customs; men proclaim
While deep in hell the devil sings
To see the bride so lame

We drink, religion’s stagnant wine
We gorge on senseless rules
God’s secret things we thus decline-
To live out life as fools

We’re walking dead, like blind men lost
We need to make a stand
Seek Jesus face, not count the cost
Until we understand

Until we learn the way to fight
Until in Christ made strong
Until adorned in Liquid Light
We sing Salvation’s song

The song of Jesus’ mighty arm
The hymns of Christ’s elite
Its time; the world, heard God’s alarm
From those at Jesus’ feet

We must pull down satanic walls
Demolish, foolish ways
Return to Christ, who’s blood yet calls
And serve Him all our days

Within the cup the Lord will give-
A wine, that’s strong and true
Revealing words; by which to live
And acts, we’ve yet to do. P.T.O.
