God's Garden Poem by Mark Walters

God's Garden

God's love is a flower
That only God grows
Asleep in the soil
Till the risen Son shows
Where new Christian life
Has broken the ground
Through the mire of death
A way has been found

With leaves now bent upward
For prayerful direction
Plants freed from sin's grip
Need Godly protection
Agape now fills veins
That once flowed with death
The life of The True Vine
Restores them to health

And what kind of nectar
Could a Christian produce
Heart sick for the sweetness
Only love can induce?
At last on the flower
Lie the seeds from above
The pollen of affection
On the petals of love
