God Seeks A Way To Save (2) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God Seeks A Way To Save (2)

Humility, a crown should wear
Upon a throne true love
Instead the devil’s fruit we bear
And fear no God above

Man sees the world upon a throne
To sin; her children’s sold
But those whom Jesus cuts from stone
Will wear life’s crown of gold

Eternal love eternal bliss
Eternal grace at hand
Not one should suffer now remiss
Let wisdom understand

Once self begins to bend the knee
When pride gives up its throne
The eye seeks Jesus on the tree
And love melts hearts of stone

What joy floods deep within the soul
What unknown peace divine
When Jesus comes to make man whole
And fill his cup with wine

God’s precious blood flows on and on
God’s grace is ever nigh
All debts were paid by Christ God’s Son
Through faith we needn’t die

When tortured souls see hope above
When spirits see the light
The heart takes hold Jesus’ love
And darkness takes its flight

The touch of hope of faith’s embrace
We heave the strangest sigh
The promise that we’ll see His face
We turn to God on high
