Godot Waiting For Che Poem by Ursula Tillmann

Godot Waiting For Che

Rating: 5.0

Moments frozen
eternities lost and
nations paralyzed.
Waiting for Godot
while Che is fighting
battles with few
who will surrender
self for a cause.

The game is the wait
beyond bread and toys,
keeping the new
breed of Romans in
the Americas quiet
beyond speechless awe.

Haven't we seen this before
not just as a repeat on TV
at night, when waiting for
dusk is Godot's nightmare
and Che's march forward?

Where have you been
all those years with
shelved memories of
injustice you surely
witnessed - if only
from a distance.

Where are the marchers
who stamp footprints
to aid new thoughts
in search of a path?

Waiting - always waiting for Godot,
while Che can't rest in his grave.
