Going Nowhere Poem by Alfred Ramos

Going Nowhere

I can’t hide behind this veil of tears
And leave behind this trail of fears
I want to get up and run as I can
From this darkness I just can’t understand
Your love was lightning in a bottle
You had me going full throttle
It was more than I could coddle
Nothing was black or white, it was all gray
All the signs ahead are in disarray
We rode desire to a dead-end highway
We thought our love was strong
But we did everything so wrong
And nothing better came along
Heartless thoughts in our head
Are dangling by a tattered thread
I can’t take this pain anymore
I’m too tired of keeping score
We over played our emotions
Believing there were magic potions
Easily scoop them out from all the oceans
This fragile heart of mine
Is slowly showing a thin fine line
Cracking like an old faded valentine
We need answers that just aren’t there
Instead we’re digging graves of despair
It’s safe to say this love affair isn’t going anywhere
