Golden Rays Poem by Jyotishmoy Boro

Golden Rays

Today, as crossing the heart of the Brahmaputra,
I saw more than water—
golden sunrays rippling on the surface,
like a dream I had once wandered.

The waves shimmered, sky melted down,
And for a moment time forgot to run.
The warmth of light reached,
the silence like a gentle hello.

The boat moved softly,
just as it had in that far-off year two-thousand eighteen,
when the river carried unspoken stories.
The breeze also knew where I had been.

I thought I had lost laughter,
somewhere in the hush of flowing water.
The Brahmaputra softly said,
'Some memories never rust.'
